Anti-Sem 22 12/7/89
A. The pupil of the eye is an anthropomorphism used to describe God’s love and protection for Israel.
B. The pupil of the eye is analogous to the wall of fire around Israel.
C. The wall of fire means that only god has the right to punish Israel when necessary. Therefore, anti-Semitism is anti-God.
D. The pupil of the eye passages emphasize the fact that anti-Semitism will be punished by God, and kindness to the Jew will result in blessing from God.
